1. What do you mean by endowment?
Endowment provides perpetual income to a designated cause. Generally, endowments are created to allow additional donations to be made.
2. Can individuals invest in BFT funds?
No, but individuals may choose to utilize one of several gift vehicles to benefit Baptist causes. BFT invests endowments, operational reserves, trusts, and other assets for Baptist institutions and organizations only.
3. Do you have mutual funds?
No. BFT invests in individual securities at the discretion of the individual manager.
4. Who should I talk with about preparing my will? Will you prepare my will?
BFT does not draft wills. Baptist institutions are the Foundation's clients. It would be a conflict of interest for our attorneys to draft a will under which a Baptist institution would benefit.
The Foundation will provide testamentary gift language for use by a donor's attorney to accomplish charitable goals.
BFT will provide attorney referrals for wills and estate planning proposals, upon request.
